# Developer Setup

This repository now has a Phase 0/Phase 1 skeleton. Full dependency lockfiles are intentionally deferred until Composer/pnpm installs are run in an environment with network access.

## Requirements

- Node.js 20+.
- PHP 8.3+ for backend syntax/PHPUnit checks.
- Docker and Docker Compose for local Apache/PHP, MySQL, Redis, and realtime service.

## Local dependency-free checks

```sh
npm run ci:local
```

This runs repository structure checks, protocol serialization tests, and Phase 1 static-reel/admin/PWA/MV3 checks without downloading dependencies.

## Local services

```sh
docker compose up --build
```

Services:

- REST/PHP: `http://localhost:8080`
- REST health: `http://localhost:8080/health`
- Realtime health: `http://localhost:8787/health`
- MySQL: `localhost:3306`
- Redis: `localhost:6379`

## Future full-tooling commands

After dependency installation is available:

```sh
pnpm install
composer install
pnpm exec tsc --noEmit
pnpm exec eslint .
pnpm exec prettier . --check
pnpm exec vitest run
composer test
```

## Current local limitation

The Codex environment used for Phase 0 did not have `php` installed, so PHP syntax and PHPUnit execution are documented as blocked locally. Docker or CI with PHP 8.3 should run those checks.
